OK - i know that i have (maybe too) much MPEG2 decoders installed into my Win XP Pro like InterVideo, Cyberlink, MainConcept, Sonic (Cineplayer), Real, J.River's + many more...
My problem is that when i install a new MPEG2 compliant codec (with a plyer, sound editing app or some conversion tool) as a registered filter, it will make 'himself' a default decoder for mpeg2-files playing. Normally this causes just some side-effects, like making WMP9 or RealPlayer (or MPC) to play these PAL files as exact dimensions (480x576) and i have to make setting for Free Aspect Ratio to get them look like they should. (Intervideo's decoder / splitter combination is good alone installed: it can stretch the file to 4:3 dimensions at playback..)
Then when i have say CinePlayer installed it registers it's three filters (CinePlayerAudio, -Video & -ATISPDIF Dlls) as default and after that Winamp 5 refuses to play mpeg-2 files (just the audio is heard) and i have to make a Batch File where i 'RegSvr32 /u xxx.dll's & xxx.ax's to get files played. Then a reverse Bat to make them back with 'RegSvr32 /s' - This is annoying to do and don't always remember to make that.
Then in certain circumstanses if i have the AC3Filter installed & Enabled i can get either WA5 crash or what's worst: the whole system to a BS state...(I think that this was solved already by unregistering Sonic's CinemasterATISPDIF.dll which i do not use as i play with analog 6.1 output with SB Audigy 2 Platinum sound card).
My Q: is there anything to do (an App or a solution) to priorize certain filters over others with system level for players to work like i wish? Just to select good old IVI-filters as default etc?
Any help would be apreciated, because this really P* off my days and take long time to inspect Crash Logs and the information scrolled with Windows Box (Faultrep.dll & what came just before it - try to unregister, then new try with same error, unregister more filters until case solved and then more lines to my Bat ...)
Also those Encoder parts can make my real-time TV-capturing jerky and stump (mostly the picture), get delays with audio etc...(Tried with GSpot to get my 'state' as green as possible by regediting invalid entries off - helps sometimes!)
Alias: Help Needed (if available) :)
