Hi!
I have read and read about DVD editing and backup.
There are soo much software to use and I get rather confused by this.
I have been using the following software for my DVD backups.
DVD decrypter (Rippin!)
Ifo edit (For removing the "bad stuff")
Instant copy 7.1.1 (For compressing and writing)
Is this a good combination?
It feels like the quality gets bad when the movie gets bigger than 5.6 Gb.It's like it compress it too much.
I'am a beginner and have been using all the default settings in all the programs.
It works, I have made about 50 dvd:s with it now.And I feel it's time for me too try something else.
I read about Instant copy and what u really can do with it.Since I have a version that is not described in the "Guides" it makes it a bit more tricky.
My magiq goal is too get rid of as many steps as possible.
Is Instant copy the answer?
Can I use it instead of Ifo Edit, and do everything with this single program?
Or is it better too keep it the way I have it and try too make some adjustments in them instead?

Regards Andreas

Me,
I like to keep it simple, DVDshrink for stuff upto about 6gig, anything over I use DVDfab to stick it on 2 DVD's

Both very easy processes, copy process is finished in about an hour either way.

Same, except I'm much more circumstantial on using Shrink. For example, if the disk is 7.5 GB but has 3 big audio tracks I don't need (DTS and two foreign), I'll often Shrink it.

Also, I often use Shrink to do two-disk backups - disk 1 movie only, disk 2 movie shrunk to still frames. When possible, I prefer to watch the movie without swapping disks.

DVDFab is great for episodic disks though; I'm surprised how often it cuts right at the end of an episode.
