hi,

when i watch a video (avi or mkv) and put the corresponding .idx and [.sub as rar-archive] file with the same name in the same directory, i can select the subtitel-streams, but only seldom appears a subtitle and then at a total wrong position. when i try vsfilter.dll in my avisynth script, it works perfectly with the same .idx and .sub file.

if i open the .idx file with subresync and click on a entry, then mostly no subtitle is shown or an earlier displayed subtitle from a different language stream appears.

could there be an conflict with other video-tools (SubTitDS1400 is not installed) or with another vobsub install - i had it installed with gordian knot, with matroska pack and alone, but tryed to deinstall all and reinstall it alone ... without success.

only forced subtitles options are disabled in the .idx file and vobsub.

any ideas ??

greetings, Heini011.

hi again,

i had uninstalled all video-utils and only installed vobsub 2.23, then deleted the .idx and the .sub file and created new ones with vobsub.

if i install the matroska mpeg4 pack 1.01 together with vsfilter 2.23 my system freezes after few seconds of playing a video with windows media player 6.4 or media player classic 6.4.7.8. but if i install the matroska pack alone and then vobsub 2.23 this problem dosn't occur.

i use windows me and have directx 8.2 installed. system: athlon xp on nforce 2, ati radeon 9100

is there a particular reason you don't/can't use the latest vsfilter ?
i think newer versions fixed problems with sub/idx, at least when they are in a matroska file..

Hi unmei,

i don't use the latest vsfilter because they freezes my system after few seconds of playing a video. this seems to be related to my win me or maybe my amd athlon xp processor. (i had read such things in some postings)

so i had installed the matroska pack without vsfilter too.

but i use now subrip to make a text based .ssa file. vobsub plays this perfectly and it is of cource much smaller.

but how can i select different languages with this method (without manual loading a .ssa file) ??

greetings, Heini011.

that crashing error with vosub come to find out is an issue with visual studio 2003. Gabest is aware of it. cant say if a fix is being worked on however.
