If I'm in right place,
Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to make
OVERLAY mode for the subtitles in my
DivX players work?
It doesn't work at the moment (after I
formatted my hard disk and settled Windows 98
and the programs again on machine-I had to do that,
it become realy slow and crowded with programs
but movies played just fine)
Now, everything is in mess!

I don't know even which codec to put.
There are thousonds of them!
:(((( Oh my GOD!!!!
CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE!

Ok, to simplify:
1.How to make OSD (overlay mode for subtitle to work)
2.Which codec to put on PC?

p.s. I have Matrox Millenium G200

THANKS!!!!

1) Buy a new video card, yours is crap :) I have such one (G200) at work, and it needs to be reflashed every year.

2) What kind of movies are you trying to play? DivX, XviD ... ?

3) What kind of subtitles? Are they external (avi+sub)? Contained in a container (OGM or MKV)?

I know for sure, that if I would have 'Windows 1898', I would certainly have dumped it by now :)

1) But it worked just fine with it before
2) DivX and Xvid, no matter. Actually Xvid are in 'slow motion'
No way I can play them normaly (never did)
I'm not even expecting. I have AMD 450MHz/RAM 64MB/Matrox 8MB
3) Yes,external. Avi + *.sub file (textual subtitle)
4) What is Windows 1898 ?
'98 ?! :))))
Oh, well, I can't put Xp, I don't have resources for it!
I would like to.
But everything works just fine in Win 98.
(except movies :)))

Try ffdshow, and use WMP6.4 (look for a file on your PC called: mplayer2.exe). ffdshow can be found here:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=53761&package_id=59355

For subtitles, you need to install vobsub.
