hello. Well anyway I got some subtitles in a movie I got but I want them out. they play on the dvd by default and when I try to open the DVD with any program like dvd shrink it gets a "Cannot find ..VTS_02_2.vob" erorr. well thats cause there is no VT@_02_2.vob. the movie plays fine, and all I want to do is either disable the subs by default or remove them all together.

And BTW I tried doing what the sticky on this forum says to remove subtitles by default and it did not work :( . Any help and I would be thankful cause I have been trying to figure this out for weeks.

Sounds like you messed up your VTS_02_0.IFO file; the best thing to do would be ripping the DVD to hard drive and start from the beginning. However, you can try to fix the files with IfoEdit. Open VTS_02_0.IFO in IfoEdit (I take it, you main movie is in titleset 2). Click VOB Extras button, check Strip Streams, Correct Vob-Unit pointers, Correct Original IFO files, select Destination directory. Don't change VOB Expert options. After you click OK, a list of audio and subpicture streams will come up. Check all audio streams (i.e. Keep), leave all subpicture streams unchecked. This will create a new set of VOB and IFO files. Replace the original files with these ones.

You can use the same procedure to strip all subtitles from any DVD titleset.

wow.. after 3 weeks of asking around and getting idiot responses from people who dont know anything u were able to give me the right answer to my problem in seconds.. Thanks alot.. not only did i get rid of the subs but now i can open the movie in dvd shrink + other programs.

thank you again

ITs a shame that i had to wait 5 days so i could ask this question :( I think a 5 day signup limit is kinda harsh for the forums.
