max read speed change on DVD decrypter?

Probably user error on my part but I can't seem
to get the read speed above 2X on 3.1.9.0. With
version 3.1.8 it routinely went to 8X. I tried all
the swithces and set the read speed to MAX and tried
all the fixed values. No change. Even the 1X setting
shows 2X when reading. Please set me straight!

I guess I should have checked my IDE channel first.
Somehow, the mode had changed to PIO from ultra DMA. I had
to reload the secondary channel driver to get it to switch.
Now DVD Decrypt is singing along at 10X read speeds.
