I've done some searches on these topics, but not found what I needed. I've gotten some video clips (from Kazaa) that I'm trying to author. Some come on board withe no video sequence header so TMPGAuthor won't accept them. Is there no way to fix this without buying TMPGEnc? I just bought Author with the AC3 plugin and my wife isn't going to understand another purchase, since the computer also came with Sonic and Videowave (both of which suck). Several also are PAL....got the entire dvd ready to burn and then got an error message about some of the files being PAL. Again, any easy way to convert them?

Some advice:

1. Get a free trial version of TMPGEnc since you only need it once. Run each of your files through MPEG Tools - Merge&Cut with type set to MPEG-2 Program. This usually sets the sequence headers.

2. There is a freeware tool for the same task MPEG Sequence Maker (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/tools?tool=255) at dvdrhelp.com

3. There is no easy way to convert PAL to NTSC, you might just as well keep them on separate discs to save the trouble. Actually, it's been discussed hundreds of times around here.

4. Please never mention downloading files from Kazaa or wherever else since it might imply copyright violation, which is against this forum's rules (rule #6 in particular).
