files needed to run dvd help needed

Noobie question....
I am using dvd decoder and dvd shrink to get the files off the dvd and to reduce their size. So now I have the .vob, .ifo and .bup files and burned directly to a dvd, but it doesn't run when I place it into a dvd player. What do I need to do to have it auto run. Am I missing a file to tell it to open a certain file to start? Any help will be appreciated.

What program are you using to burn?

Are you making VIDEO_TS folder and putting vobs,bups,ifos in that folder?

If your not doing that the dvd will never play in your standalone.
You'll also need to go to the guides section a do a little reading.

I'm using RecordNow Dx, it came with my sony dvd burner. I have used nero for all my past burning onto cd's, but since this came with the burner I thought I would try it. I did make a mistake as you mentioned, I needed to have a VIDEO_TS folder and put all .vob's, .bups and .ifo files into it. I just burned all of these files loose onto the dvd. So I'm guessing it is looking for the VIDEO_TS folder and it can't find it there.
