I have an encode I did awhile ago with AC3 sound. After a lot of listening tests I've come to realise that on my current hardware there's no need for AC3 and I'm perfectly happy with vorbis.

Question is this - if I use Vdubmod to demux the avi with AC3, and remux the video into a new container with vorbis audio, will this process have any detrimental effect on the video? Is this process correct, or is there a better way to achieve what I want?

Thanks :)

VdubMod will work fine. Just be sure to set Video...Direct Stream Copy.

re-muxing files can be achieved in TMPGenc DVD author.
It works wonders, i used it only this morning to change audio to Dolby digital so i could use the vob file in a dvd.
