Some DVD-9 come with software (warner playing soft, etc) and I'm thinking in adding an icon (microangelo) to my final dvd-r. So far so good, because this I can do it well. The real problem is that I don't know which reliable (or one that will make it more compatible) software should I use.
Before, I were using the method of imgtool classic + DVD Decrypter (without the extra software in the dvd-r) and the burned media, had a great percentage of compatibility.
In the previous version of Recordnow (like 4.10 or 4.00) I would get my standalone player to read my riteks 4x, and with the new version 4.5 or 4.6 I don't (using a Pionner 106 (1,07 firm)), even after checking the forum for "best configuration for RecordNow". So I stick it to imgtool classic.
I also tried to burn the movie with soft, with nero, but the disc didn't play on my standalone player, a Sony NS-700V.

Can you guys tell me what would you do, or did you ever tried to do this.

Thanks for the answers.

You can continue to use ImgTool Classic and DVDDecrypter.

Just put your software at the same level as the VIDEO_TS directory before you start ImgTool. You can also put other directories at the same level as VIDEO_TS.

For example:

c:-
|- my_movie
| |- AUDIO_TS
| |- VIDEO_TS
| |- WEB_PC
| README.TXT
|- ...

When you make an image of my_movie, the image will include the README.TXT file, the WEB_PC directory, and everything in the WEB_PC directory.

Playback will not be impeded by the extra files you place in the image, as long as you don't put anything extraneous in the VIDEO_TS or AUDIO_TS directories. It works just like a retial DVD in that respect.
