okay.... i have an anime source "najica blitz tactics"...... and i'm trying to get it so that i can deinterlace it..... i've tried using sangnom().... it works out pretty good... but not quite well enough.... i've seen functions written in the boards (ie: sstomsmocomp)... but i'm totally green in avisynth.... and i'm not a programmer.... i've implimented some filters.... asharp and mipsmooth.... but nothing way out there.... i just want to know how about to use these "functions"....

You might check out www.doom9.org/ivtc-tut.htm -- it's a tutorial on Inverse Telecining, but it also includes a section or two on deinterlacing ... with examples. Other places I recommend poking around in are the AviSynth Usage forum, and, of course, the AviSynth manual at www.avisynth.com.
If you use an AviSynth based encoding suite, much of the work may be automated. For instance, using Gordian Knot, you'll be able to select from several different deinterlacers from the GUI, such as Field Deinterlace, Smart Bob, and TomsMoComp. You can also edit the AviSynth script to select from several others, such as GreedyHMA. Lastly, it comes with documentation on all of these plugin tools.
