Hi, I'm in trouble !
I just burnt my first DVD-R...
and everything seems OK...
I can view the files whith explorer.
But when I try to copy some files
from the DVD-R to my hard disk,
I got an error message : "can't access the file"
...What has happened ? I can see the files but I can't
access them !!
Are they badly burnt ? What app can I use to
check the errors on my DVD-R ? Do you think
that burning at 1X instead of 4X can help ?
thanks !

Try running the disc through a software player or on a standalone.

OK but I forgot to mention I've burnt only mp3 files
on this disc.
I 've just tried it on my standalone dvd player and
it's taking a very long time to play the first file,
and then it seems to be looking for the next file
(i can hear the disc spinning) but it nevers finds
what it's looking for...I need to switch off the player
and restart it

All the DVD players that I have used ONLY play MP3 from CD. Maybe yours is the same

no, I think the problem is with the burning of the files.
I tried to burn them at 4X and 1X but it's always
the same problem :

When I use windows explorer, I can see all the files on the
disc, but I can only access one file (the first). When
I try any action on the other files, there's no response
from the explorer and I need to press ctrl+alt+del to
close it.

Can you let us know a little about your setup:

What DVD burning software, and how are you using it?

What DVD Burner and

What blanks

I'm using Nero 6, with a Polaroid burner.
The blanks have no name. They have a white
label, and the dye is blue.
When burning is finished, nero says "burned successfully
at 4x". I've tried one burning with the "verify written data" function
activated and I had to abort it because it took such a long time
(30 minutes for only 20% verified)

Well, I don't know anything about cdspeed
