Hi.
I have ripped a 2-disc movie onto my HD into two different folders using DVD Decrypter.
The size og the first part of the movie is greater than the second.
Now I want to burn it onto two DVD-5's, but in order to achieve the best possible quality of the compressed files, I want to make sure that part 1 and 2 are of equal size, so the compression rate will be similar and minimal for the two discs.
What program should I use for this? I have got IfoEdit v.096, VobEdit v.06, IMGTool v.1.1.1, Pinnacle Instant Copy v.8 and v-Strip. Will any of these do?

I was not aware DVD Decrytper had the option to split the DVD into two, usually I use DVD Decrypter to rip the entire movie, then DVDfab to split it up into 2 seperate DVD's for burning. The whole idea of doing this is there is no re compression, and DVDfab tries to put all the extras on the first DVD, so there is generally no need for editing the menus either.

Full disk backups, or movie only?
If full disk, I don't think there is any way. If you try to move an asset from one disk to another, there won't be any menu button to play it (not that I'd know how to move the asset in the first place).
If movie only, you could use the start/end capability of DVDShrink in re-author mode.

Hi Kedirekin.
I've tried reauthoring in DVD Shrink, but the problem is that the movie that I have ripped is stored in two different folders (since it came from two separate discs, and DVD Shrink does not (to my best understanding) allow for first joining the two "different" movies (both named title 1...) and the afterwards splitting them again, only in a different place. As far as I can see DVD Shrink does the splitting part only. Am I wrong?
I don't know if I have made myself clear, but really, what I might as well have wanted to do was to take two completely different movies, and then remove the last VOB, for example, of the first movie and insert it as the first VOB in the second movie. Does that make any sense?

Using re-author mode, DVDShrink is capable of joining flippers to some extent. You might want to check out the guides at www.dvdshrink.info (compliments of ddlooping).
If I understand what you want to do, you want to join a movie that is on two disks and then split it to two disks, but change the location of the split. In that case, I probably wouldn't join the movie at all.
Let's say I wanted the whole section from source disk one and two chapters of source disk two on destination disk one, and the remainder of source disk two on destination disk two.
I'd use re-author to combine source one and source two, and use start/end on source two to limit it to the first two chapters. Then I'd use re-author again on source two only, and use start/end to exclude the first two chapters.
