Ok, now this has been a thorn on my side and I've been trying to solve this for hours and hours now. I have a dvd-r recorder and I wanted to back up one of my laserdiscs, now those of you who are unfimiliar with Ld's they have to be flipped over half way through, so what I decided to do was let the recorder keep recording even when I was flipping the LD, thus recording about 35 seconds of black and Blue screen.

So after I finished with the movie, I open it up in TMPGEnc for menues and such. When i come accross to editing in the program i think its nice and easy, i just mark in and out the part i want gone and cut, simple right. Not quite so. After I author my freshly edited DVD and burn to a DVD-R I notice that while I am watching it, that when it comes to the part where I cut out, there is a little skip, the transition is not smooth, I want a perfect copy and I rhough no big deal, but I can't seem to find a program that fits my needs.

The "cut" part is about 3 quarters through VOB2 so I tried Chopper XP but found that I can't cut out pieces, so if I want the part gone I am left with two VOBs for that one. So what should I do?

To sum it up I just want to edit out that 30 seconds of blank screen with no noticible blip while watching the movie. Also I realize I could convert the file to mpeg or AVI but I don't think/hope that would be necesary. I guess what I'm looking for is a good VOB editer. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP.

http://google.com/ -> ".vob editor" ?

If I were you I would just do 2 captures, convert to MPEG-2 with tmpgenc, trimming exactly to the part where you need the transition, and then join them with mpeg tools built into tmpgenc. That should provide a clean transition.

What did you record? AVI/MPEG? You can't cut MPEG accurate enough for your needs, because you only can cut at keyframes. This is the same for AVIs. However, there are codecs for AVIs, which mark every frame as a key frame, e.g. MJPEG codecs(PicVideo, Main Concept, aso.). You could also trim your AVI or MPEG via Avisynth, because it generates raw output which you can cut frame by frame. Either way, you'll have to reencode your video. There are a few tools wich can cut MPEG frame by frame, e.g. M2-Edit. Basically they only reeencode the area around the frame where you want to cut. But IIRC they are payware with crippled demos(only a few seconds possible) available.
