Hi!

How can I tell windows to play MPEG1 video data with another MPEG1 codec apart from the one that comes with any Windows installation?

Thanks!

The first thing I thought of when reading your post was a small utility included in the Tsunami Codec Pack, which is called Codec Sniper, and which helps you to eliminate unwanted directshow-filters...
Thinking about it, I don't know if I would recommend removing the windows codec though...
You might be able to achieve what you want by changing the merit of directshow-filters, which is possible using zoomplayer, if I remember correctly, or for example with the Radlight Filter Manager which you will find in this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?threadid=68244&highlight=directshow+merit) in the post by KpeX...
Good luck!! :D
