I have been useing DVD Shrink 3.05 Beta for some time now, burnt over 200 movies with only a few coasters. However, I upgraded to 3.1.4 a couple of weeks ago and have had nothing but trouble since. When I 'Open Disc', the program starts to anylize disc, gets to 99% done with 2 seconds remaining and locks up. Locks up so bad I have to switch off the PC, wont respond to anything. I went back to 3.05 and it does the same, I uninstalled 3.1.4 and 3.05 still does the same. Tried different discs, makes no difference.

If I rip a DVD with DVD Decrypter and then use Shrink to shrink the files, it works fine. I disabled all unnecessary services and have no progs running in background, done a registry scan and cleanup, done a defrag, done system check with Norton utilities all seems O.K.

I have XP Pro, 512 ram, 200 GB HD, P4 2GBhz processor and an NEC 1000a burner with the latest firmware.

I'm at a loss now, any ideas would be appreciated. Thanx.

What OS?

Try disabling the video preview. If that fixes the problem, then you have problems with your MPEG decoder(s). Usually uninstalling all MPEG2 audio and video decoders and then reinstalling just one set will fix your problem.

Hmmm...I'm glad that it worked for you, but based on your above quote, I don't know why 3.0 beta 5 would exhibit the same problem, as it does not have the "burn with Nero" option.
