View Full Version : Sorry for being noob, how can I merge Vobsub into MKV file?

I really did my best figuring it out, I tried to murge idx with mkvtoolnix-0.8.2 and Virtualdub without any success. And all the posts I read only gave me a hint that this is doable, however those posts didn't tell me HOW TO. :(

Can someone be nice by telling me exact steps for murging idx/sub into mkv? Thank you. :)

Use the latest mkvtoolnix version (link found in the mkvtoolnix thread in this forum). Load your video file and if you have any extra sound file and in the same way load your .idx file. Be careful to have both files (idx/sub) named the same. Choose your target file name and mux them!
I do not think Vdmod can do this at this time so use only mkvtoolnix!
It is pretty easy and straightforward so I think you'll do it fine.
MPC with latest matroska splitter and vsfilter works fine for me for displaying those files...

Erm, I already tried that, somehow it failed. But your post proves I must have done something wrong. :)

Thx for your help, I'll try again. :)

Does the program (mmg) give you a specific error when you try to mux the subs in?

It didn't give any error message, it says it's done, then nada. I can play the movie tho, but the subtitle is just gone. Arf... must be the splitter stuff. Will try again later. :)

Thankyou.

Try latest Media Player Classic.
