Hi, I have succesfuly backed up one DVD film, I took off the things I don't need and I added new subtitles, It works fine, but there still one problem with the colors:
First, I put the subtitles below, on the black bar (in Srt2Sup Global setings I put: X1=365 and Y1=505...it seems to be a nice position for the subtitles) and I changed the colors manualy with IfoEdit:
Color 0: 10 80 80 (Black)
Color 1: EB 80 80 (White)
Color 3: EB 80 80 (White)
Color 4: 10 80 80 (Black)
As a result, should be a white text with white outline...but it is not!
It seems to be that I can only modify the outline (Color 1), the rest just stays black.
I've tried every combination possible, then I look at the film ussing IfoEdit just to control and... nothing, only the outline it seems to be possible to modify, the rest just not.
Do anybody know why? Is it because the subtitles are below on the black bar?
Any idea?
Thanks.

Hello, It seems to be that nobody wants to answer the questions here, anyway, I just made a few tests and I solved the problem myself.
This is interesting for many others who wants to add new subtitles with differents colors:
After you demux your film into diferents files (m2v, ac3 und sup) one supouse to get the desire subtitle, after the sincronisation, everithing is ready to be edited with "Str2Sup".
Now comes the colors: When I use (in Str2Sup: Global settings) "Use default target" it is possible after with "IfoEdit" (and the files already remux) to change the subtitle's colors, but if this "Use default target" is not active, you can put the subtitles wherever you want, but after with "IfoEdit" it seems to be possible to change only the outline color of the text (Color 1), not the rest.
I made a test, putting the subtitles below the black bar. I could modify only the outline...it is not bad, you can get a good subtitles like that, having a black background and a white or yellow outline of the text, the other way is also not bad, may be with more possibilities. Anyway one should choose what is the best for oneself.
Here I let the colors parameters (to be modified with "IfoEdit" in VTS_PGCITI / VTS_PGC_1):
IFO Colors:
Color 0 = Background
Color 1 = Outline
Color 2 = Text
Color 3 = Anti-alias
White: EB 80 80
Maroon: 30 B8 6D
Black: 10 80 80
Green: 50 50 5A
Olive: 71 89 47
Navy: 1C 76 B8
Purple: 3D AF A5
Teal: 5D 47 92
Gray: 7D 80 80
Silver: B4 80 80
Red: 51 EF 5A
Lime: 90 22 35
Yellow: D2 92 10
Blue: 28 6D EF
Fuchsia: 6A DD CA
Aqua: A9 10 A5
Also a list of subtitle stream parameters, if somebody wants to have more than one subtitle, it could be interesting or necesary:
Subtitles stream (4:3)
1 (-2147483648)
2 (-2147417856)
3 (-2147352064)
4 (-2147286272)
5 (-2147220480)
6 (-2147154688)
7 (-2147088896)
8 (-2147023104)
9 (-2146957312)
10 (-2146891520)
And finally, I would like to encourage the people in this forum to help and (if it is possible) to answers the questions... That is really the sence of this forum.
Thanks!

Hi,
The position of the subtitles should have no effect on how the colours are used!
What you are seeing might be the "bug" is Srt2Sup where if you have the same colour for any of the elements then they become blended into one element. So:
If you have outline and background the same colour they will all be come background!!!
The best way is to use different colours for each element.
I have written a SupRemap program that allows you to remap the colours later and edit the colours in an IFO file, but only if you have used seperate colours for each element!!!

No, unfortunatelly in my case it is not like that, I've changed the subtitle position (under the black line) and I edited yellow text colors and it did't work at all, the text color was all the time black... and somethig else: It was possible to change the outline but only into two differents colors: Yellow or white and nothing else. I don't know the reaseon.
May be you know?
Thanks.

Hi,
I would need to see the SUP file you are working on if it is not too big. The S2S file would also be handy.
If you could cut them down to say 5 subtitles that still display the problem and mail them to me at srt2sup@yahoo.co.uk I could have a look at them?

Well, actually I've tried to make another test and it worked perfectly... I displayed the subtitles below the bar (x1=365 and Y1=500) and I edited the colors without problems.
The example before was with "Terminator 3"...may be something in the movie? But I don't think so, may be I did something wrong.
As you said, the positions has nothing to do with the colors. Very well put.
Thanks!
