Hi :)

Well I am much a lurker/reader than a poster on these forums, but however i could not find answer for this.

Since I have my DVD burner I dont make SVCD's anymore.
Lets say I have some DVD's or Avi's I like to make a DVD back-up with different subtitles than found on the DVD movie or even add one when converting Avi to DVD.

Wel actually I already do that, but I want to know if there is a way to do it with DVD2SVCD.

This is my method:
I convert the srt files to sub files with Srt2Sup. I use DVD2SVCD to create a .mpv and audio file.
After this progres I mux these 3 files together, and change the subtitle color settings in the IFO file with given color hex numbers in Srt2Sup using IFOedit, than burn the DVD.

What I like to know is, is it possible to mux a sub file with other files when DVD2SVCD mux the video and audio files?
Can we do this with some code or even with a setting, or does anyone have a better method than I do?

I really like to use DVD2SVCD so I hope there will be a option in DVD2SVCD to add *.sub files when we create a DVD image in later versions.

This is already quite possible as long as you have the latest release of DVD2SVCD (1.2.1 Build 3) and you have Sonic Scenarist (or you are willing to wait for the next DVD2SVCD release which won't need it :) )

Check the "Rip Subtitles" box in the Subs tab and select the language for your sub stream. Load up your IFO or AVI in the conversion tab, click on the Go button and select "Add External Subtitle Stream". You can then simply browse for your *.srt or *.sub file (SubRip and MicroDVD subs are the only supported formats for external streams). Do your other settings and previewing as required then start the conversion as normal. Leave the rest to DVD2SVCD - your image file will have the subs as a selectable stream.

The preview window has a checkbox to view the frames with external subs to correct positioning etc.

Hope this helps

Hahaha! Man i never know that SVCD2DVD supported external subs with making DVD :D
I was using external subs with SVCD but subs where off when i last used to make a SVCD probably thats why i couldn't choose external subs.
And all that work i put in last DVD's with subs was not needed :o

:thanks: for lighting me up Nick!

EDIT: I forgot to mention... Yes I use latest version of SVCD2DVD (as always) + CCE 2.5 + Scenarist pro 2.6 :D
