Avisynth 2.5 working without converttoyuy2

just curious here. I read the cce faq and it says if I want to use avisynth with cce 2.5 sp then I must add (converttoyuy2) to the script.
i have not been doing this and it has been encoding just fine. is there somethign I am missing, or are my encodes not as good as they should be?

avisynth 2.5.2 Im running at the moment.

I believe this is because the conversion is being done by something else (codec or whatever) installed on your system...AFAIK the encode may be inferior as a result.

So I say include the line just to be safe, as you know you can trust avisynth.

Specifically, they are
1) huffyuv captures and
2) DVD rips via 1.76 dvd2avi project file. (Red dwarf Pal dvd season 3, i been doing NTSC conversion.

The huffyuv capture I do not choose >export yuy2 as compression method. Should I?
