Subtitles Problem?

I don't understand why the subtitles(*.sub & *.idx format) moved up to the top margin of TV screen(or even disappeared) whenever the credits appeared along with the movie. Is there anyone can help me to bring the subtitles back to bottom margin? What settings of vobsub should I use?

I use "vobsub+Tmpgenc" to convert *.avi into *.mpg and then watch it with standalone VCR.

first off, I am not an expert at vobsub whatsoever plus I don't have a working installation of windows atm, so this is only from the back of my mind, no guarantees etc.

How are you using vobsub + tmpgenc? Do you write an avisynth script or do you rely on the dvobsub directshow filter?

I guess your subs are from a DVD - what is your target format? DVD or VCD?

Anyway, let's assume you are using the auto-loading dvobsub - is there an option to arrange/align the subs? Like "original" (as in the vobs) or "bottom"? Again, I don't have vobsub atm.

You can also use "Vobsub Configure" to change the display area - basically that red box thingy - perhaps that helps?

I used avisynth script to load the subtitles, video and audio. But before using Tmpgenc to convert *.avi into mpeg1(vcd), I used "vobsub configure", the red box thingy, to adjust all the subtitles so that they all entirely appeared above the bottom margin of television screen.

All looked fine to me except when credits appeared in the movie, then all subtitles were suddenly moved up within that period(about 1 min. show time) to the top margin of screen or even disappeared!

Is there any functions in "vobsub configure" or can I change the *.idx manually to solve the problem?

Well, this is maybe stupid for me to say but...

How about the original movie subtitles - sometimes subs are moved in credits up beacose of original (embeded) movie subs...
