I use DVD Decryter to rip my DVDs.

I notice that if I unclick the "Cell" box on the right hand side of the input tab... the resulting vob files are way smaller than as if the "Cell" box is clicked.

However, the lenght and quality of the two vob files (one with "Cell" clicked and one without) appear to be the same.

What is the "Cell" for?

lol, by unchecking the cells you're removing parts of the movie.

Imagine it goes VTS -> PGC -> Chapter -> Cell.

So VTSs have PGCs, PGCs have Chapters and Chapters have cells.

Cells are just the smallest unit.

So if the check box was "unchecked".
If one was to try and open up a VOB in MenuEdit they would not see the Cells IDs?

No, these are Cells as specifed in the IFO. They arent the VOBID/CELLID type cells. You can see what I mean if you take a look in IFOEdit at a certain PGC.
