What about the subtitles with TMPGEnc?

I've already convert DVD files into MPEG 2 (SVCD) using TMPGEnc, and I must say that the quality is realy fantastic.
But what about the subtitles? Is it possible to keep the subtitles using TMPGEnc?
I've already used another programs like: "DVDx" or "1 Click DVD" where you have the possibility to keep he subtitles, but I find anyway the quality from TMPGEnc, much better.
Any idea about the subtitles?

The easiest way I quess is to use DVD2SVCD.

It uses TMPGenc if you want it to do it and takes care of the subtitles. So you have the quality you want plus high comfort editing the subtitles.

Tanks for your tipp. DVD2SVCD seems to be a nice tool, a little bit complicated may be, but good. I didn't try to make some copies yet, but before I do that, I would like to know if DVD2SVCD encodes the subtitles as a part of the "mpeg" file (as when you rip with DVDx or 1 Click DVD) or as a stream for SVCD?
Because if it were as a stream, may be is better to convert the movie directly with TMPGEnc and then add the subtitle with "WinSubMux"; but of course, like that is not possible to see the subtitles if you play the movie in a computer. That's only works with normal (and not all of them) DVD players (that I don't have).
Well, It would be interesting to know that, before I do some tests.
Actually I am interested on having the movie encoded with TMPGEnc and the subtitles as a permanent part of the file.

there's 2 ways i know how to add subs to tmpgenc:

1st: http://www.doom9.org/mpg/tmpg-main.htm
2nd: install Vobsub, extract your subs to a *.srt format, and rename your *.srt file to match your *.vob file or vice-versa

DVD2SVCD can do both methods you described.

I personally choose permanent subtitles. Here you can set the position, the fonts and the colours of the subtitles with DVD2SVCD. ecause of this, I'm not sad any more that my DVD player isn't capable (like nearly all) to show switchable subtitles on SVCD like on DVD. here is even a preview option.

I can't imagine an easier way converting DVDs to SVCDs. There a lot of guides on doom9.org and a Forum of DVD2SVCD just a few step above of these.
