I have many mpg files that i am trying to merge with tmpgenc plus 2.5 then use tmpgenc dvd auther to put on dvd. when i try it say that the mpg file in not compatiable with other mpeg files.

I got the files that tmpgenc did not complain about to work just fine.

when looking at the details of the files with dvd patcher i notice that the aspect ratio is 12 on one of them that will not merge when the rest are 8.

The other file that will not merge has a bit rate of 104857200 and the rest are 1150000 also the size is 480*352 and the other sizes 352*240 i am guessing the the size dose not matter but it is the bit rate that is not allowing me to merge it.

I think with tmpgenc i can make it work. At the main screen and selecting the mpg file i want to change not sure what settings to use as far as the stream types go.

stream type - System(audio, video)

Settings - it looks like the default bit rate would work
but the aspect ratio 12 and 8 not sure where that would fit in.

Am i close on this?

Uh I'm no expert but it seems clear to me that you cannot merge video clips with different frame sizes at all.

you may be right i am rerunning tmpgenc again changing the frame size to match the rest.

I am a little confused on the aspect ratio using the defaults it switch the aspect ratio from an 8=0.0000 to a 1=0.0000 I can see that might make sense in the settings aspect ratio(1:1 vga) for a computer moniter. I know i want 4:3 i am not sure how that would translate to a aspect ratio of 8=0.0000 but i am going to try it
