Hey guys,
i am haveing some problems burning DVDs with my new TEAC DVD+RW DV-W58E 8x DVD+ burner with Nero.
Every time at the end of the burning i get the error message
write error
invalid field in command
could not perform end of disc-at-once
burn process failed
sometimes the dvds work in my dvd-player, sometimes they dont. the last chapters are not accessable or my dvdplayer says something like invalid input.
i am using 4x recordables, tried three different manufacturers but i keep getting the error message.
help would be much appreciated

What 'three' different manufacturers have you tried.

not sure if they are really differnt... TDK, intenso and phillips. all three 1 - 4x and DVD+R. do you think this error occurs due to recordables not supported by my burner?

Get a copy of ImgTool classic and create an ISO first. Then use Nero to burn the ISO. It is likely to solve your problem assuming it is not a disc incompatability or drive failure and will also create DVD's that are more set top friendly. You can find ImgTool in the software section.

i used nero 6.2 for the first time to burn a disk and it appeared to be fast but it burnt only half of a video and it said the burning was completed sucessfully!!
wasted a disk, not using it again for dvd burning.

I've had the same problem with Nero using DVD Shrink.
DVD Shrink automatically uses final output size 4464MB I think.
It seems Nero needs some space to do its disc lead-out.
Every failure I've gotten though has worked fine on my standalone.
You might try setting the output size in Shrink (if that's what you're using) to something like 4400MB. See if that works.

i am using dvdshrink yeah, guess that means i can delete the images oh well... is there any other dvd-burning software which can use nero image files?

I have burned 100's of discs, both xbox backups as well as DVD's using Nero with absolutely not problem. The backups will play in every set top box in my house including a very finicky philips Q50 which is notorious for not wanting to play backups. Nero is very sensitive to the layout of the DVD, hence, my recommendation that use use Imgtool to create an ISO image first and burn that! I do not use DVDShrink since it degrades the output quality and prefer to split the disc when needed. If it will output a VIDEO_TS directory, it can be feed into imgtool.
Best of luck,

I have the exact same problem. I use Nero 6.3.0.2, but I've had the same problem before on an older version of Nero (6.0.0.19), but then it suddenly was ok again, and I could burn images (disc-at-once).
But it's not just with Nero I have this problem. I can't burn images with any program. I've tested with Nero, CDRWIN 3.9C, CloneCD 4.2.0.2 and Fireburner 2.17, and all fail.
I have a ASUS DVR-104 (DVD-R/RW), but it says PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-104 in all the burning progs etc.
My other HW:
ASUS P4P800 Deluxe
Intel Pentium 4 PC800
TwinMOS PC3200 DDR-DIMM 1024MB Dual Pack
P.S.:
I can burn track-at-once with no problem.

Same problem here but only if i use nero 6. even the latest release
Nero 551054 works perfectly.
doesn't matter if dvd shrink initializes burning or if i feed the VOB
files directly into the nero video_TS folder
nero 6 is crap (Where is the uninstall button?)
Nero 6 is pretty but doesn't work as well as nero5. For me anyway
They should have left it alone
