If you are unsure of what VOB's are the movie files, and which are the extras and what not, just try playing them with a software DVD player until you find the 4 (I think it is normally 4) VOB's that contain the movie.... Or whatever part of the DVD you wish to encode.

Two first-time posters, back to back in the same thread, this is a first for me! Welcome to Doom9's forum! :)
If you haven't seen it, here's a link to a Dr. DivX Guide (http://www.marcpeters.co.uk/dr-divx.html), I hope it's of use. Good luck with your projects, and have a great time while you're here!

I'm afraid that the guide didn't help mutch because the only tricky thing with this program is to know what file to chose... When I try to run the film in a DVD program I can't see whitch file that is the main movie can I? how?

Offline - I havn't used DR DivX in quite a while, but I do believe you have to have the VOB's ripped onto your HD before starting Dr. DivX (like I say not positive on this) and then you can point it to the folder you ripped them to.
If this is in fact the case you will need one of those DVD rippers, I am sure there are links all through this forum (maybe you all ready have one?)
Anyway, try to ripping the VOB's to your HD first, in some rippers you can have it select only the main movie files and leave out all of the extras and what not. And then use Dr. DivX to encode from the folder you ripped them too.
Hope that helps and doesn't get you lost.

Yeah when I tested Dr. DivX I had alreddy ripped the movie using DVD Decrypter, because it was a borowed CD and this is fast. But I thought that it was possible to only use one program (Dr. DivX to Rip the movie. Wrong?
