Tell your movie to stop smoking so much.

Just kidding. Seriously, what do you mean by hacking? Is your player having problems reading the disk and making strange noises? Are you seeing something strange while watching the movie?

Also, which guide were you using? There are many guides, and it'll be easier to help if we know which one.

Ohh sorry!
Im using the DVD-9 -> 1 DVD±R using dvd maestro.

With the hacking i mean that the picture is hacking. Its like the movie dont have all the frames. Its normal for about 10 seconds then a hack, then 10 seconds and a hack.

//thanks for all help i can get.

Okay, so you're seeing brief, intermittent freezes in video. Depending on where you are seeing this, the two most common causes of this problem are probably media and non-compliant video.

If your player doesn't like the media you're burning to, it may not be able to read the disk fast enough. When the player falls far enough behind, you can get the intermittent freezes you describe.

If the video is non-compliant, the player can get confused. As one example, if the framerate is off (23.97 fps video without pulldown for example) the timecodes between audio and video might go out of sync, and the player might freeze playback to allow the audio time code to catch up, or might jump the video ahead to catch the video timestamp up with the audio.

Are you seeing the hacking on your set top DVD player? If you play the same disk on your PC, do you see the hacking there?

If you only see it on your set top player, does the audio drop out at the same time that the video hacks? When the video hacks, do you see a lot of blocks or pixelation on the screen? Do the hacks always happen at the same spots, or do they move around every time you play it?

Do you have access to another set top player, maybe a friend's or a family member's? Does the disk hack there too?
