Right, If i use Dvd Decryptor to Back Up my Dvd's, From what i've read what it does is it will basically copy all the contents of my dvd onto my hard drive, into one folder, so im wondering whether there will be any Audio/Visual quality loss?? Or will the movie (home movie) be in the exact condition as it is on the dvd?
p.s will i need a dvd rewriter drive to do this??

Exact condition. When ripping a purchased movie dvd It gives a exact duplicate with an exception. It removes encryption information.

It removes whatever you want to remove in the preference mode options. So, it's not just macrovision.

You are, of course, correct 2Cool. I should have told him but was afraid I might confuse him.
@Kapow you will need either a dvd rom or a dvd "burner" to be able to read the disc. A cd drive won't read the disc. Sorry I missed that part of your post. BTW welcome to the forum

All optical drives are coming down in price so quickly that it's not very much of a jump in cost to go from a DVD reader to a DVD burner. But, should you find yourself in possession of a DVD ROM, you can still burn your files to disc using DVD2SVCD with only a DVD ROM and a CDRW. If you purchase a DVD burner and have no prior experience, DVD Shrink is a most user friendly software program with which to start. There are links within the Guides (http://www.doom9.org/guides.htm) page from which you can download these fascinating freeware programs, and of course, Doom9's excellent guides to help you get your first rips sorted.
