Hi,
I recently performed a video capture to an avi file using the huffyuv codec and avi_io. This was performed on a machine using Win98 which had the huffyuv 2.1 codec manually installed.
I then took this avi and opened it up on a WinXP Home Edition machine and began to edit out some parts. It only hit me a few minutes later that I never manually installed the huffyuv codec onto the XP machine but was still able to open up this avi file and play it with no problem.
Does this mean that XP has the codec already buit in? I know if I tried this on a Win98 machine prior to manually installing the codec, it would give me an error.
