use DV camcorder to capture VHS to DVD ... or not?

Hi, is it a good idea to use Digital8 camera to capture/digitaze VHS tape, then copy it to PC via firewire and (after conversion) save it to DVD?

Or the better option is to use video-in on my Asus v3800 video card?

What digitizing is better - the one inside Digital8 camera or software one ?

I am worried about the quality of the video-in port of the video card. But - it allows capturing at 720x576 while DV format is much smaller afaik...

What to choose?

You can try, then you know ;)
I believe that you'll probably have less problems and better quality if you capture through your Digital8 camcorder.
