ripping question

I run into problems when I tried to back up one dvd yesterday. The dvd plays fine, but I had trouble ripping it. I used Nero to test it and found a block unreadable (only 0.01% of the movie).

Question: Is there anything I can do to back up the rest of the movie?

Try ripping with DVD Decrypter.

Tools Menu > Settings > I/O tab, check the Ignore read errors checkbox.

Convert with DVD2SVCD in file mode and see what happens.

Warning: use IFO mode in DVD Decrypter, Nick meant File Mode in DVD2SVCD.

Or even better, try Tylo's DVD Decrypter plugin, bundled in D2Sroba (http://home.tiscali.no/tylohome/downloads.php).

Thanks. It took quite a while but dvddecrypter ripped the whole movie down, I will report after encoding.
