How can I:
track either the time a burner has been "burning" in a day or how many discs it has burned in a day?

If no one knows....sigh, then there may be no software solution...then I am gonna hardwire a timer to the LED on the front of the burner.

anyway, you would need a program running constantly, monitoring the api call for burning a dvd. Read up on api calls and make a simple VB app to do it.

The IMAPI is used in XP when CD are burned....
Not sure how to tell if it is in use or not though....
