Hello guys

I have encoded Terminator 3 and the resulting DivX looks pretty much darker than the DVD... I tryed to use Zoom Player Overlay mode but it doesn't work when playing a DivX, and it is a pain to adjust monitor's brightness/contrast-view the movie-restore settings... is there any way to do it automatically? Something like Photoshop's "Automatic levels" but for a video...

Help please

Joan

Hi-

You can do it within your video card's overlay controls. For example, with the NVidea GeForce4 TI 4200 card I have on this computer, I right-click the desktop and then go Properties->Settings->Advanced->GeForce4 TI 4200->Overlay Controls. Then I can adjust the brightness or contrast or both. Most video cards have something similar.

Or if you decode with ffdshow, you can do it in there (Start->Programs->ffdshow->Configuration).

Or if you use the DivX decoder, if you use a player that can access it (NOT WMP 8 or 9), you can do it in there.

I just checked the Zoom Player's controls. Did you try and right-click the video and then go into Color Controls? Real easy.

None of these are automatically adjusting for each movie. But it's still easier than adjusting and readjusting your monitor each time.
