Green screen

I don't understand. Even with the new codec xvid (koepi), after encoding I have an avi which nothing is possible to watch. We can see a little the movie but with the green it's impossible.
I read somewhere it could be a conflict with the divx codec, do you think it could be that? I'd like to specify the last ffsdshow is installed.
It should be noted that the xvid and divx aren't present in the compression list from Vdub and DVD2AVI. I had to use "Divx video duplicator" to encode.

Well not sure if this is the same problem, but I remember a while back when ffdshow would have this problem when decoding xvid content and you would get green blocks in the picture. Try using the xvid decoder instead of ffdshow or divx and see if the problem goes away.

Maybe it's the way you are encoding. I had a problem that if I used a odd non 32 mod resolution the video would come out green.

I have this problem with ffdshow installed or not. And I can't encode with Virtual Dub because I don't see the divx and xvid codec. I will reinstall win XP and I will see.

a possible solution for your virtualdub problem:

run 'regedit'
goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows NT/Current Version/Drivers32/

delete any empty 'vidc' entries, restart virtualdub

regarding the green blocks, a friend of mine experienced the same problem just yesterday encoding anime @ 720x576
i haven't verified if it's decoder related yet, his system must be messed up decoder wise...

As you said, I deleted 3vix who was empty and now divx and xvid appear.

Hop ... my computer is encoding. I will tell you if it works now.
