In 2-pass encoding mode most of XviD options between 1-st and 2-nd must be equal by design.
Sometimes it's hard to setup them twice(in first pass setup and in second) and do mot mistake.

Maybe make such XviD improvement's:
1) save this options into "stat"-file when first-pass encoding starts
2) read this options from "stat"-file when second-pass encoding starts
3) remove(or disable) this options in XviD configuration for second pass

I think it will be great improvement!

What do you think about?

Sorry for my poor English...

I think you should start regedit and export the xvid registry key - et voila, you're done :-)

Maybe i can write a small tool doing that. For most of us, this would be a quite useless feature btw... since RC1 and fast 1st pass, we DO change many settings between the passes (which I'm not too happy about... but that's just me) so you already don't need _all_ the same exact settings anymore. Forget something, it doesn't matter, we compensate well enough for that.

Maybe better to add profile mechanism (like in WMV9) in order to save/load all settings to/from file directly from XviD configuration window.

And CLI (WMV9 and DIVX 5 like) will be very usefull (for bitrate calculators)

Any case current XviD settings GUI is not ergonomical - it has multiple tabbed dialog windows and each of window opens with separate button :(

IMHO ffvfw/ffdshow GUI solution looks much better. Maybe I can help with better XviD GUI layout?

Any case thanx for great encoder - XviD is my favorite since September 2003 and XviD 1.0 is great!!! I love it!!!
