Hey guys, is there a way to find out what version of divx exactly was used to encode a video? Tools, properties in programs.. etc? I have tried couple of programs but none really say which divx was used to encode. Please help if you know. Thanx

Well, I've never managed to find an application that can do this!

Anyway, although GSpot it very good, it does not give you very detailed info about the stream, ie whether B-frames, GMC or Qpel was used.

However, Sigmas AVI Check (http://82.2.167.24/Uploaded_Files/AVIcheck_(v4.06.172.00).zip) can!

i tried both tools mentioned here. only got as far as 5.x shown. too bad

the only reason i was trying to find out is because i am having too much trouble with 5.1.1 and 5.0.5 wont let me register, crashes out. So i was trying see which version i used prior to 5.0.5.

Anyway.. thanx guys.

im out Probably 5.0.2... I still have this installed on one of my partitions because you can create MP4 compliant video streams with it - that MP4UI likes!

Also 5.0.2 is quite fast ... quite a bit faster than 5.1.1

I also have to admit I prefer the DivX5.0.2 GUI....

http://82.2.167.24/Uploaded_Files/DivX5.0.2_GUI_FrontPage.jpg

As all the main encoding selections, bitrate settings, Qpel, GMC (S-VOP) and Bi-Di (B-VOP) are on the front page!

How easy is that!
