realvideo and directshow playback problem

I have a few realvideo clips laying around and some play fine with MPC and DS but others only play through RealPlayer. I don't know much about the different RV versions. Are the DS filter supposed to play all RV clips or could something else be wrong.

Is there a utility that could tell you more about the codecs used in a .rm file?

All clips I ahve works #1 in MPC in DShow. Even RV8 is supposed to be working :confused:

Try D-C's useful RealMedia Properties/Shell extension (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=55392). This should tell you how many streams, bitrates, which codec etc are used. Maybe you have some SureStream files? Those are the only ones I can think of that would not work.
