If I may, I would like to poll the members and gauge how many forum members use Studio 8. If the numbers justify it, maybe we can start a Studio 8 thread.

I just finished re-formatting, doing a fresh XP install, and loading Studio 9.0 onto my editing PC. I was previously using Studio 8 and was, to say the least, fed up with it. Hopefully, Pinnacle has their poop in a group this time. ;)
I haven't had time to play with it yet but the first thing I noticed was that they are now using the PicVideo MJPEG codec. Suprising, since this is the codec I was going to install anyway. Previous versions of Studio gave me nothing but problems when trying to us Huffy. With some hacking, I was able to get Morgan working with Studio 8 but, like I said, stability was/is a MAJOR issue.
Anyway... I'm looking forward to working with 9.0 as soon as I have the time. Pinnacle, this is your last chance! :D

xiaNaix,
can you elaborate on how a Studio 8 user can use S8 with other codecs like Huffy please? I've done it once ... I installed a Panasonic DV but I could only choose to use it for outputting an AVI file. Is this the extent of the opportunity of leveraging other codecs?
also, I'm very interested in your S9 experience, the new features it claims to have are very appealing, I wonder how good they turn out to be. Specifically I'm referring to the clean up of old videos, automatic colour correction and wind noise elimination.
on the other hand, I wonder if all the new functionality of S9 is already in (and stable in) Liquid Edition so maybe I'm better off just paying the extra to go Liquid. what do you think?
I have had stability problems with S8 only at those times when I've had background rendering and graphics card assist features switched on. I've wasted disks using S8 to burn them so I use Nero now instead.
