Hi again!

I enclose an other log file. I converted Zeffirelli’s Jesus of Nazareth, which is 270 mins long with a TV (4:3) aspect ratio. That’s why i went for 3 CDs, but finally got 4, leaving about 4 Mb on the 4th one. This is not the first time I got 3 CDs when i went for 2, or in this case 4. On the last disc there’s always some 3-4 Mb left, as if the AutoGK wouldn’t be able to predict the exact size of the movie. Has anybody experienced the same thing?

yes, try that one.

P.S. it also helps posting different non-related questions into different threads. That way I don't have to scan previous posts to get an idea what is all about...

it's not a problem of AutoGK it seems that DVDDecrypter has issues with that DVD... (AutoGK only displays what DVDDecrypter gave it to display...)

Hi Len0x!

Now I enclose an another movie’s log file, and the results datas. I deleted the movie which log file I enclosed previously, but now I experienced the same thing with an other one. Souldn’ I use divx player and watch films during the transcoding process? I did that in this case. I use the AutoGk 0.8 version, with divx 5.0.4 pro, with an Athlon XP 1700 processor, under WinXp pro. I again went for 2 CDs, finally got 3.

The log:

i think version 0.8 is optimized for divx 5.11
maybe that's the problem

the problem is that slight oversize plus a distant key frame from 700/1400Mb boundary can easily result in unability of AutoGK split it as intended. There can be more smart algorithm implemented but at the moment it's dead simple: split at the point of last key frame in 700/1400Mb. Manually you can try splitting in say 701/702 Mb parts and it will still be ok, but AutoGK cannot do that yet.

p.s. XviD target size is more precize if that helps (I never experinced this problem myself with XviD).

I did with XviD - American Beauty, 2 CD w/AC3-5.1 - came out to 2-699~700mb cd's and one @~4mb - I just manually resplit to 2@~702 each, no biggie.

I sad! I have this problem with XviD codec too! :(
The Talented Mr. Ripley was 3 CD´s of rip...
I selected predefined size: 2 CDs...

1 CD: 701 MB
2 CD: 700 MB
3 CD: 5 MB

The AutoGK v0.98 doesn´t work to me, AutoGK v0.96 won´t splitting exactly...

I re-install AutoGK v0.8! I hope this version split the *.avi on 2 pieces correctly! ;)

I resplit the original ~1400mb file with virtualdubmod (the one that's in the AutoGK subdirectory).
