View Full Version : Wrong fields making up a MPEG-2 Frame - can it be corrected with GKnot?

I posted this in Capturing video -forum here at Doom9:s, but as I got no replies, so I try in this section as I usually re-encode my MPEG-2 files into Xvid-files with GKnot.

My question - is the following possible to be corrected with GKnot in the resulting xvid-file:

I have a strange problem: I capture into Mpeg-2 via the analog output of my DVB-C settop box and it seems that in the captured file the wrong fields are making up the frame:

e.g. if fields 1A and 1B should make frame 1, here it apparently is so that fields 1B and 2A are making it! It accomplished a "shadow" especially in scenes with movement.

Thank you for any help,

DVB-C, that means PAL, right?

In that case you should add this line to the .avs, somewhere in the deinterlacing or IVTC area:telecide(guide=2,post=false)Don't forget to load Decomb.dll too. And if you still need deinterlacing then remove the ,post=false bit too.

Yes, that's PAL. Thanks for the tip, I will try it!
