Hi,
i tried a lot of mpeg2 cutting tools
the best one i've found is tmpeg dvdauthor
but it can't cut per frame and sometimes some errors appear:
duplicate some frames (!?), incorrect timestamps, the soft in not that stable, etc ...

So i would like to ask if someone could try this challenge,
my idea is mixing the virtualdub edition capabilities with mpeg 2 export in a first time for a per gop cutting (or whatever a mpeg2 stream can be cut), then adding some mpeg2 encoding capabilities to permit a per frame cutting (reencoding a gop we want to cut in etc...)

i am not coder of any sort so it's just impossible for me trying to create a software by myself :'(

what do you think about this ? :)

You might want to give MPEG2Cut 1.15 a try ;)

Cheers,

MPEG ---> MKV ---> MPEG

should be available in not so far distance, and this makes using VirtualdubMod for editing MPEG2 in MKV possible. We just have to bug Cyrius about this until he finally will agree to do it ;) .... he said it should be possible, using FFvfw as VCM codec for MPEG2 preview ...
