Hi Donald A Graft,
In a command-line mode is important make a log file. I suggest add one to DVD2AVIdg.
Add a command-line parameter -log=[d:\MyProject\DVD2AVI.LOG]
I suggest:
DVD2AVIdq v1.77.3dg1.0.0RC2 by Donald A Graft.
----------------------------------------------
Aspect Ratio = 16/9
Frame_Rate = 25 fps
Video Type = PAL
Frame Type = Progresive
Video Long = 65500 frames
Audio Format = DD 3/2 448
Process time = 5:34
Process OK
(note that is the info of the "Information" window.)
Report too the fails and issues in the log. By example, if canīt decode the fist frames (because have BB before a P frame) tell in the log.
Is a good idea?
Is hard to make?
Thanks.

I don't think it would be that hard to make this mod, but unfortunately Don is on a sabattical at the moment and we don't know when he'll be back, so you'll just have to wait and see.

Two months later ...

I hope that add this feature.
Thanks.

Thanks, hakko, I missed you too. :p
Log file generation is now on my worklist.
Right now, stepping backwards across a VOB boundary has me pulling my hair out. The navigation code sucks!

Sorry Don, I figured the VOB boundary problem would be an easy fix...an improperly set pointer or something.
Also, just wanted to point out that the log that I listed actually logs more info that the one proposed in this thread. I just figured if youre going to make a log, might as well log the entire configuration. Especially since there really aren't that many options to log.
I wonder if it would also be useful to log the frame numbers of each GOB and their Open/Closed condition?

Don't be sorry, Cy. It's a serious bug, and bugs should be squashed. Well, software bugs anyway; I like spiders, the bigger the better. I know, they're not insects, but perhaps still bugs. I digress.
When I get to the logging issue, I will solicit input for a specification.
Your feedback has been and continues to be highly useful.

I found a spider in my back yard last year whose *body* was 3 inches long and at least half-an-inch in diameter! Long, black and sleek. He looked extraordinarily aggressive, but he was dead. Drowned in the dogs water bowl. I showed him off for a few days and even people who like spiders shrank back from him.
My friends call me Cyb.

Re-Welcome :-)

I use one program for automate the conversion. If i have a log, I can test if the DVD2AVI process are OK or not.
The extra info can give me more data for process the file.
For example, if the Aspect ratio is 16:9, i can convert it to 4:3 in automated mode.
