It means no subpictures unless they are forced.

hi
You mean if I use SetSTN Subpicture=1:OFF it makes both forced and non-forced subpictures off ?

No, that would still allow forced. And if the user turned on subpictures without selecting a stream, stream 1 would display. The SetSTN subpicture command sets 2 things, which stream, and whether it is on or off. Player remotes can turn subpictures on and off without going to a menu to select a stream.

I still donīt fully understand subtitles so I have a question:
Where is it defined if the subpicture is forced or not,
and how can it be changed?
It would be nice to get this cleared, once and forever.

In the subpicture itself. There are 2 commands (yes, subpictures also have a set of commands and a script) for starting the display. STA_DSP, the 01 command, is the normal start command, FSTA_DSP (00) is the forced start command. As you can see, one stream can hold both.

Thank you, once again. :)
Is it still right that this can be changed in the 5. byte of
the "SetSTN"-command, using BF? (from one of your old posts)
