How do you get DoItFast4U to use DVD2AVIdg instead of the old version i'm using the latest beta version 1.4.3.0 of DoItFast4U.
Also are there any benefits from using DVD2AVIdg?
Cheers

Simply enable the button in the AVS Editor that says, "Use DVD2AVIdg".
Yes, with DVD2AVI, a couple frames were 'lost' after a reencode. With the new version, there's zero frame loss.

At the end I think it was 2 from DVD2AVI and 1 from mpeg2dec - it's always 3 frames at the end anyway.
And on some (PAL only?) releases, 2 frames at the beginning are lost, but the reported audio delay by DVD2AVI/DVD Decrypter on the files was -80ms less than the true delay (as reported by VobEdit).
The lost frames are almost always black and don't really matter (I just use an avs script that replaces the lost frames with a black one), but a notable exception is titles that use seamless branching and require bits of the movie to be encoded separately.

VOBID demux is the important thing that DVD2AVIdg corrects. The old DVD2AVI used to seek thru the video until it encountered an I-frame, then start creating the .d2v project file from there. When demuxing by VOBID, you have a good chance of NOT having video that starts with an I-frame, and therefore you'll have considerable more loss than 2 frames or so, it can be quite a lot of frames actually, depending on when the original encoder decided to place I-frames. From what I understand, this is corrected in DVD2AVIdg, finally. It's been an ongoing bug for years now.

I'm sure I did that but it still used version 1.76, I will tried it again now.
Edit: Just tried again and it still uses version 1.76 when it does the Executing DVD2AVI on VTS...... should it not use the new version for that??

Oh, you must be using an old avisynth. DVD2AVIdg is compatible with the 2.5x Avisynths only (not my fault, the author chose not to support legacy versions). I have my app default to not using it if your system isn't set up right to do so.
