Ok, well, I have rewrote this post 4 times now. Each time new quirks have poped up about this case. At first I though it was just another dissapearing vobid, but they are all accounted for (and that option deselected in the aux settings). Then after examining the VOBs with menuedit, I thought it was deleting cells, but the cell that menuedit reported doesnt exist (explained below). Now I'm pretty sure its an isolated incident, and I am pretty confident on what cuases it.

Where to start. Well The movie is Bulletproof Monk (R1). The problem is with menus with an intro transition. During the first loop (the one that is apart of the transition video) none of the buttons are present and hitting the OK button does nothing, but if I wait for it to loop or hit the next button, then all of the on screen buttons function correctly. Menus that dont have a transition do not exhibit this behavior.

Now for an example and some facts. The main menu is contained in VOBIDs 2 and 4. 2 is the intro, transition into menu, and the menu itself, while 4 has just the looping version of the menu. Now, menuedit reports that VOBID 2 has two cells, one with zero buttons and one with four. But, VTSM_C_ADT only reports V2C1, and there are no Nav packs for VOB 2 CELL 2 in the vob file according to vobedit. I did notice in vobedit that up until about 1/4 through V2C1 there are no buttons in the nav packs, but after that there are four of them. I was under the impression that you couldnt add new buttons without at least starting a new cell, but I guess not as its in a commercial dvd and works just fine.

Ok, so I would assume that is the root cuase. Numenu4u sees the first nav pack of the cell, doesnt find any buttons, and just assumes there arent any.

Anyway, this is easily reproducable on all five of my home computers, so this has got to be an issue with numenu4u and this disc. Maybe the disc is out of spec, I have no idea... The menu isnt even that big (180MB) I just ended up a little over (my fault) and decided to use numenu anyway to get about 20 megs back.

If this is a known problem and a workaround has been discussed I am sorry, but a search really didnt turn up much. Just thought I should put it forward for Zeul to check out, if its a biggish problem (first time I ran into it anyway).

Now I need a nap...

I've run into this problem on several discs. If you check the last couple pages of the big NuMenu4U Final sticky thread you will see others have too.

The last one I remember this occured with me on was Boogie Knights (R1, re-release).

EDIT: I ment Boogie Nights. Boogie Knights is the a Jackie Chan/Owen Wilson gay porn. Of course, I have that too, but didn't enounter any menu problems. :)

Well, that was embarassing. Excuse me while I shoot myself in the other foot...

I'm quite sure Zeul is working on this. But you're right it's an issue with menus with no buttons in the first nav pack.
