I use the big 3 to back up my Pal DVDs. DoItFast4U always flags them as Interlaced, TFF (Top Field First), even the extras. I've found that if I follow this, and leave TFF ticked in CCE, sometimes, particularly with the extras, I get the flickering, suggesting that the field order is wrong.
After experimenting for months with different DVDs, it seems that if I untick this for every movie and extra, they ALWAYS play back OK. Why is this? Surely some of them REQUIRE TFF to be ticked?? I know I should follow the 'if it aint broke don't try to fix it' route, but I was just wondering!
Are all PAL DVDs interlaced? If not, why does DIF4U flag it as so? It suggest that I should tick interlaced and TFF, but this often causes flickering.
Also, if I continue to untick everything, DoCCE4U has it ticked as default. Is there any way to change this?

Thanks!

Check the CCE FAQ (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53770) (especially question 10), that should make things clearer :)

Yup, you have to edit it in the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WoofSoft\BatchCCEWS\template

There you find several folders, one for every template (normally 0 = Roba, 1 = Multipass, etc.)

Change the key 'Upper Field First' from 1 to 0 in decimal mode in your desired template.

the setting 'invert field order' in DoItFast4U! is designed to 'trick' DoCCE4U into setting the correct checkbox in CCE :readguid:

Thanks guys!!!
This is probably in the wrong forum now, but I'll ask it anyway..... -- how do I make Multipass the default template rather than Roba?

Cheers again

Well, you can set in the 'AVS Options' of DIF4U.

If you're using the ccedata-file from ReAuthorist, you have to change it yourself in the ccedata-file from RA.

The number after the avg bitrate stands for the template (0 = Roba, 1 = Multipass, etc.)

Check the helpfiles btw, they're really helpful in some cases... :D
