Not sure where to post this question but this seems to be the best place.
I just found out my TV supports 1080i, 480p - progressive scan from my DVD player giving it a HDTV quality picture.
After hooking it all up, I freakin flipped out. I mean crystal clear.
BUT.....
The greens are to green, the reds are RED, and blues are REALLY blue. Darks are too dark, whites are blinding. It is nearly impossible to watch because it just far to much to look at. It's hard to process the contrast and clarity after watching 480i for a year.
It sucks because you can't turn down the contrast or brightness, makes it to dark. When you go from a night scene to a day scene, you better have your welding goggles ready..
Is this normal? I literally have to struggle to see faces in darker scenes, and squint when brighter scenes come on.
Also, would it be a good idea to try buying a DVD player that supports 1080i, and try that?
Thanks for any advice..
