Hello,

I read the guide but do not understand the mechanics behind the numbers I'm getting.
It gives me 40% of .469 for example, what is .469? It's kinda "maximum compressability" but what does it mean? I can't get higher bpp ouf of this codec? How is it calculated?
Is it GK-only feature?

Thanks,

GKnot says that your "0.469" value is bits/(pixel*frame), so that's what it is. When it says "40%" it means that the codec is being allowed to use 40% of this value. Another way to look at it is that you're letting the codec use 40% of the bitrate it would use at (near) maximum quality (ie the Q=2 you find in the following link.)

This thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?threadid=44414) explains how to perform a comp. test, so it will give you a good idea of what it means.
