View Full Version : Priority of CCE template settings in DVD2SVCD

I have a progressive and interlaced templates I use for CCE in DVD2SVCD (like most people). I'm just wondering if DVD2SVCD's settings always have priority over these.

For example, on the Encoder tab under Advanced settings you can select both a GOP sequence and a template. Which GOP sequence is used? If I already have M=3, N/M=4 set in the Progressive template, do I need to remember to also set it in DVD2SVCD's Encoder tab Advanced Settings when I select the Progressive template?

I'm also concerned about the Matrix setting in the template. If I set a matrix on the Matrix tab in DVD2SVCD, does it always override the matrix in the current CCE template? The actual CCE matrices are stored in the registry, and I haven't bothered adding any extra ones, I just assumed the Matrix tab in DVD2SVCD would override it.

Sorry if I missed the answer to this somewhere.

Hi brett,

The DVD2SVCD readme.txt file contains potential answers to these questions:

- Info: If you select "Use current encoder default matrix" but uses a CCE Template then the Matrix in the Template will be used. If you don't use a Template the current encoders Default Matrix will be used.

- Enhancement: Support for CCE Templates (sort of). You can select a CCE Template in dvd2svcd, but this is only for settings which isn't already in dvd2svcd. That is, the template will _not_ overwrite the settings already existing in dvd2svcd.

Hope this helps,
Bob

Thanks for finding that.

So, the CCE template's matrix will be used if and only if you have "Use current encoder default matrix" checked in DVD2SVCD's matrix tab. If you select a specific matrix in DVD2SVCD, it will always override the CCE template.

I'll assume this means the GOP sequence specified in the Encoder tab also overrides the template, so you probably will want to change the GOP sequence if you switch between progressive/interlaced templates.
