Firstly I am having problems with a movie (xvid) that I recently encoded... prior to adding the audio the movie played fine. Aftering adding the AC3 192Kbps audio onto the film what now happens is when I try to open it with Media Player there is a huge delay after which it eventually plays but without the sound. In Nandub when I try to re-open it it states that there was an ACM error. What/ where have I gone wrong ?

Secondly I been going through some of the material/ guides and I was looking for specifically what format would be more appropriate/ adequate for the Audio of movies to be added to movies where I am doing 2/ 2+ CD encoding and have a bit more space to spare for audio. At the moment when I have a bit more space I tend to just use ABR(VBR) MP3 @ min: 112 average: 192 max: 320. Any suggestions/ recommendation would be much appreicated.

For your first problem, I would recommend muxing the AC3 with virtualdubmod and installing AC3Filter (http://ac3filter.sourceforge.net) for playback. More info in the AC3 FAQ.

Regarding two CD rips, assuming your source is DVD, the answer is most definitely to keep the original AC3 audio since there will be no loss.

Well I have the AC3 filter installed.... the exact procedure that I followed is to DVD Decrypt the film then use DVD2AVI to extract Audio and d2v file... then I simply used the extracted sound and added it to movie using nandum. The demuxing is already done by DVD2AVI [from what I checked within the menus, etc.]
